Meal (called “Måltid” in Norwegian) is an iOS app that generates recipes using AI. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Data we may collect

• Account data: email or sign-in identifiers, if you create an account.
• Preference data: language, country, measurement system, diet, allergies, pantry items, equipment.
• App content: recipe requests you submit (e.g., cravings) and recipes generated for you.
• Feedback: ratings or taste feedback you provide (optional).
• Diagnostics: basic logs needed to operate and improve reliability (if enabled in the app or platform).

How we use data

• To generate and personalize recipes.
• To provide core app functionality (favorites, history, settings sync).
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.

AI processing

When you generate a recipe, your request and relevant preferences may be sent to AI service providers to produce the recipe content (and optionally an image). We minimize what is sent to what is needed for generation.

Data storage

Your account and app data may be stored in our backend services to allow syncing across devices and to provide the service.

Your choices

• You can edit preferences inside the app.
• You can request deletion of your account/data (see Contact).
